Affiliate Disclosure

How SitePulse Labs will identify future affiliate or commercial relationships while keeping editorial judgement independent.

This Affiliate Disclosure explains how SitePulse Labs will identify affiliate relationships if they are introduced and how commercial relationships are kept separate from independent editorial judgement. It should be read with the Editorial Policy and Methodology.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a third-party product or service. If a visitor clicks the link and completes a qualifying purchase or other action, the publisher may receive a commission or another form of compensation from the provider or affiliate network.

An affiliate arrangement does not automatically mean that the visitor pays more. However, SitePulse Labs will make a “no additional cost” statement only where that statement has been checked against the specific programme and transaction.

Current affiliate status

SitePulse Labs may introduce affiliate links in the future. Unless an article or page contains a clear affiliate disclosure, visitors should not assume that a link is an affiliate link.

No affiliate programme is currently confirmed as active, and this page does not claim that affiliate commissions currently fund the website.

How commissions may work

If affiliate links are introduced, a provider may pay SitePulse Labs after a disclosed link leads to a qualifying action. Commission rules, attribution windows, excluded products, pricing, and eligibility can vary by programme and can change without notice.

Readers should verify the provider’s current price, features, renewal terms, refund rules, and availability before purchasing. SitePulse Labs does not control a third party’s checkout, account, or support process.

Clear placement of disclosures

A general policy page alone is not enough to explain a material commercial relationship connected to a specific recommendation. Where affiliate links are used, SitePulse Labs will place a clear explanation close to the relevant content, normally near the beginning of the article or comparison and, where needed, close to the recommendation or link.

The wording should explain that SitePulse Labs may earn a commission from a qualifying action. A label that says only “affiliate link” may not give every reader enough context.

Editorial independence

Affiliate eligibility or commission potential does not determine an editorial conclusion. Recommendations should be based on relevant evidence, technical suitability, limitations, pricing considerations, documentation, and the needs of the intended reader.

SitePulse Labs does not offer paid ranking positions or guaranteed positive coverage. A commercial relationship must not prevent the publication from discussing drawbacks, alternatives, or uncertainty.

Research, testing, and access

SitePulse Labs does not claim that a product, hosting plan, plugin, theme, or tool was personally purchased, installed, or tested unless the relevant content documents that work. Research based on official documentation or other reliable sources is labelled accordingly.

If a company later provides free access, credits, a review licence, a product, or another benefit connected to coverage, that material relationship should be disclosed clearly even when no affiliate commission is involved.

No purchase required

SitePulse Labs articles and permanent pages are currently available to read without making a purchase or clicking an affiliate link. Readers are free to visit a provider directly, choose an alternative, or take no action.

Hosting, plugins, themes, and tools

Commercial references may include hosting, plugins, themes, monitoring platforms, performance tools, security services, and other software. The existence of a link does not guarantee that a product is suitable for every WordPress site, hosting environment, budget, or skill level.

Technical recommendations may become outdated as software versions, service plans, interfaces, and pricing change. Readers should confirm current details with the provider.

Sponsored content

Sponsored content is different from an affiliate link. If sponsored content is introduced, it will be clearly labelled and separated from independent editorial recommendations. Payment for sponsorship will not be presented as evidence that a product is technically superior.

Advertising

Display advertising is also distinct from affiliate marketing. Google AdSense or another advertising network is not currently confirmed as active. If advertising is introduced, the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy must be updated to explain the provider and relevant data practices. An advertisement does not, by itself, represent a SitePulse Labs endorsement of the advertiser.

Conflicts of interest

A material relationship that could reasonably affect how readers evaluate a recommendation should be disclosed within the relevant content. This can include affiliate compensation, sponsorship, free access, gifts, credits, or another direct commercial relationship.

Questions about a relationship

Questions about a specific link, recommendation, or commercial relationship can be sent to sitepulselabs@gmail.com. Please include the URL and the name of the product or provider involved.
